Budget Explained: The first start up year, most of the money is coming from grants and donations. We received a large grant from the Ford Foundation that we are hoping to use sparingly so it can last many years.  We wanted to be intentional about paying all of our workers a fair wage. The revenue minus expenses left us with $ 422,680.00. We are hoping to eventually get our own property and even start a store to generate our own revenue in order to become sustainable. I realize that the money from the first year is unsustainable and many of the grants are temporary. We are looking for more grants that are longer term.
